Dallas Architecture and Real Estate Insights

by Douglas Newby, Real Estate Broker

Dallas Architecture Blog discusses Modern Architecture and Mid Century Modern Homes, Dallas Neighborhoods, Dallas Real Estate and the Aesthetics of the City.

This is the map of original uses that Douglas Newby and Bob Logan took to the Mayor of Dallas, the City Council, churches, lenders, school principals and apartment owners to show that while most of the area was currently in use as multi-family housing, all of the light brown lots were originally single-family homes and could be again. The dark brown represents the historic apartments, the orange represents lots with 1960s large apartments. Southeast of the Haskell Avenue border of the rezoning area is the blue color that represents proposed quality development that became Bryan Place, the first inner city development of new homes in Dallas, created by David Fox and Fox and Jacobs.
